The biggest tournament in world poker has reached its final stages with confirmation of the nine players who have made the final table for the World Series of Poker Main Event. After eight long days of terrific poker we are left with just nine players from a field of over 7,000 with eight pros and one amateur faced with the longest wait of their life.
The poker world will be talking about these nine poker players for the next four months as they sharpen their games and prepare for the biggest final table they have ever been involved in. It will be no place for shrinking violets as the previous eight days have proved that aggression, aggression, aggression has been the mantra for the successful tournament players.
The final table is packed with professionals with only one amateur making it through the 7,000 strong field. Soi Nguyen will take 9,650,000 into the final table and will no doubt be asking his friends Nam le and Steve Sung for some advice between now and November. Nguyen had only played three live tournaments before the Main Event and must be wondering what all the fuss is about given his deep run here.
Without a doubt the biggest name out of the November Nine is Michael Mizrachi who won the $50k Players Championship to start the event with a bang. He will be looking to take down the biggest win of his life and cement his place as one of the world’s top tournament players. A very strong finish in November could also secure the World Series of Poker Player of the Series title. As things stand Frank Kassela is in possession of this award but that could all change come November.

Whilst everyone will have their favourite, youngster Jonathan Duhamel a Canadian who has made an impression on the EPT over the last few years coming close on a number of times must be a strong contender with nearly 66 million chips. Mizrachi is dangerously placed and will be looking for a good start and to chip up early.
