PokerStars Big Game Filming Starts

Filming has already begun for the PokerStars Big Game to be televised on the FOX network from June 14th. PokerStars have called in the big guns for this televised cash game with players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Doyle Brunson and a host of other top players all confirmed participants.

The PokerStars Big Game is a high stakes cash game with $200/$400 blinds and a $100 ante with a minimum buy in of $100,000 and a maximum buy in of $500,000 to ensure the game will be deep stacked cash game with plenty of play for these stars of the felt. To increase the unpredictability PokerStars are also staking one lucky player dubbed the Loose Cannon with $100,000, any profit the Loose Cannon makes they can keep but if they go below $100,000 they walk away with nothing.

The first episode will be broadcast on Monday June 14th on FOX and will run five nights a week at suitably poker hours of between 01:00am and 02:00am. Every episode will feature five of the best poker players in the world looking to deprive of the Loose Cannon of any profits and get one over their peers. With the game set up to ensure lots of deep stacked play it should be an exciting watch.

Although all the stars have been sworn to secrecy a few comments have been made about one hand which has already got the poker community talking. Ultimate Bet pro Phil Hellmuth tweeted:

“A hand came up in ‘The Big Game’ (on FOX soon) that was so sick I dare not talk about, ever! I guarantee it will be talked about worldwide!!”

PokerStars have refused to comment other than offering it will make “good TV”. There are still a number of Loose Cannon slots open for players who think they can take on the best in the business and walk away with a profit. Simply qualify from the PokerStars satellites for this great event.
