Online poker site PokerStars is approaching its 60 billionth hand just six months after recording its 50 billionth. In celebration of this historic number PokerStars are paying out cash windfalls to players who are involved in the 300 milestone hands between number 59.7bn and the big 60. There is still no PokerStars rakeback but promotions like these help make up for that.
The 300 regular milestone hands will reward every player dealt into them with $50 for every VPP they have earned in the previous 50 hands at the table. There will also be a base prize of $50 in cash meaning with just one VPP earned a player will net $100. The winner of each milestone hand will also have their prize doubled.
Whilst these 300 regular milestone hands are rewarding the big money is to be found by playing in the 60 billionth hand where players will in $500 for every VPP earned in the previous 50 hands at that table. Instead of the base prize of $50 it is now $500 and the when whoever wins the 60 billionth hand will pocket a tasty bonus of $60,000 on top of their other cash – which is of course doubled.
When the 40 billionth hand was recorded just over a year ago, some 300,000 players were logged into the site across a staggering 41,000 tables as players sought to win the promotion.
