Poker Relief from UltimateBet.com

Following the phenomenal success of the relief campaign for Haiti on a number of online poker rooms, including Ultimate bet and network partner Absolute Bet, UB introduced a series of $10 online fundraising events.

The series will be the first of its kind, with regularly scheduled monthly events that started on Sunday, March 14th, at 1PM ET, and will continue every second Sunday through June and will benefit a number of national charities
Being marketed in a recent press release as “Second Sunday”, each event includes a second-chance entry to a bonus freeroll, for a chance at another $1,025 in various UB.com tournament entries, taking place the following day for those participants that don’t qualify for Second Sunday tournament prizes.

In times of economic hardship charities face a decline in the number of donations they receive.

UB.com Pro Annie Duke believes UB.com has developed a simple solution, “This is not about individuals each making large donations. It’s about a large number of people collectively donating small amounts of money in order to make a difference.”

The Spring line up of UB.com Second Sunday fundraisers will run consecutively on AbsolutePoker.com. Beneficiaries include the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Road 2 Recovery’s Injured Riders Fund, and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
