Full Tilt Poker Hosts Huge Cash Sessions

Full Tilt LogoWhilst many of the best poker players in the world were battling it out in London at the WSOPE some big names were smashing it up at Full Tilt Poker in some seriously nosebleed cash games. Ilari Sahamies was the major winner on the tables as he pocketed over $750k in one almighty session.

Anybody can play at Full Tilt Poker and with Full Tilt Poker rakeback they also get 27% rakeback but for the players on show recently rakeback is probably the last thing on their minds with huge swings taking place in one session. Ilari Sahamies took on Cole South and Brian Hastings at $500/$1,000 Pot Limit Omaha recording nearly 1,000 hands against the pair.

Sahamies took Cole South for $700k last week and again this week he made a big dent in South’s bankroll taking $602k over the session. Hastings fared little better losing $187k over 600 hands. In the space of this session Sahamies has been able to atone somewhat for his horrible august and is now up over a million dollars in September.

For South though, these latest two losses have wiped out all of his profits for the year and he is now staring down the hole of an $800k loss for the year. Elsewhere on the Full Tilt tables Patrik Antonius had a good day winning $83k whilst Phil Ivey geared up for the WSOPE with a small $52k win. Gus Hansen managed a small win as well pocketing £36k.

Most of the poker world is currently in London playing in the World Series of Poker Europe where Jeffrey Lisnadro and Phil Laak have picked up the first two bracelets despite stiff competition from the British contingent. Team PokerStars pro JP Kelly is well placed heading into Day 2 of the £1k buy in event whilst other big names have yet to make a mark in any of the first three events.

The next two to come are the Heads Up Championship and then the WSOPE Main Event which is expected to be one of the most competitive tournament line-ups in recent years.
