Flowers Makes a Killing at World Poker Tour Festa al Lago

Randal Flowers has become the youngest two-time winner on the World Poker Tour following his historic win on Wednesday night in the WPT Festa al Lago in Las Vegas. Flowers had previously been the youngest ever winner on the WPT when he picked up the 2009 WPT Spanish Championship in Barcelona.

With just eight players left in the tournament it looked like Flowers had busted out after rinning King ten into pocket kings before hitting a gutshot on the river to take him to the chip lead and cripple Michael Benvenuti who he would eventually face heads up after Benvenuti nursed his stack through to the Final Six and to heads up.

On the day itself it was very up and down with some big swings starting early when Skip Wilson became the only player not to be knocked out by Flowers when he lost to Michael Benvenuti. Flowers then started his mission when he took out Andrew Frankenberger who was looking for his second WPT title. Frankenberger and Flowers faced off with all the chips going in pre-flop, Flowers would come out on top when his pocket 10s held up against the fives of Frankenberger to send Frankenberger home with $161,200.

Jacon Koon was next to go again knocked out by Flowers before the North Carolina native ran over Noah Schwartz to knock out three of his rivals and face Michael Benvenuti with a more than 2:1 chip lead. After only fourteen hands it was all over with Benvenuti pushing all in with an over card, flush draw and gutshot against the top pair of Flowers.

Congratulations are definitely due to Randal Flowers the youngest two time WPT champion who has proved that there are some very talented US players kicking around without sponsorship deals.
